I am a spiritual being on a human journey dedicated to health and enlightenment.
Theresa began studying health and nutrition in the early 90’s in response to her belief in the body’s innate ability to heal itself. In 1998, she received her Master of Arts degree in Nutrition from Syracuse University. Convinced there was more to a healthy lifestyle than just vitamins and minerals, she continued her studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and became certified as a Holistic Health Counselor by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). At IIN, Theresa studied numerous dietary theories and the mind-body connection. Her counseling experience is fortified by her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Alfred University.
Theresa combines cutting-edge, holistic nutritional theory, meditation practice and yoga, to help people address their health concerns and attain optimal health and well being in their lives. Life is about choices. We can create anything in our lives with the proper focus, intention, and right action.
In addition to studying holistic practices around food and health, Theresa is a natural foods chef specializing in whole foods and vegetarian meal planning. For years she has taught cooking and nutrition at Syracuse University, the Zen Center of Syracuse and the Green Mountain Institute in Vermont & Portugal. Her nutrition classes incorporate scientific theory with a practical understanding of how food interacts with the body. Cooking classes focus on meals designed to support and promote health and vitality. Her classes draw extensively from her experience as the head chef, also known as the Tenzo, for the Zen Center of Syracuse.
