Looking back at my life since I left the corporate world, I can see how this manifests for me. When I finally realized that I am not cut out for a 9-5 job with a boss and all the restrictions that come with it, I knew what I wanted to do. Health counseling has been my passion for years now. The only thing stopping me was my own fear. They say that our greatest fear is of being a success. I was guilty of that.
As soon as I declared to myself and those in my support system I was going to be successful at health counseling, the universe started to fall into place and bring me opportunities. With the smallest amount of effort emails started to pour in and I haven't looked back. Since then I have had media coverage in newspaper, television and radio, I have over a dozen fantastic clients and my life is happier than it has ever been.
Soon another dream I harbored for as long as I can remember started to surface. It is something that scares me even to be suggesting it here. To indulge this dream would expose me to scrutiny and possibly ridicule of the most intimate level. I have only uttered it to people I trust and know will support me. Now I am going to offer it here in an effort to fulfill my dream.
My secret is that I want to write a book. You may be wondering why this is important here. This dream I have been protecting is being drawn forth by the universe through synchronicity. Events started to happen I could not ignore and the journey has begun.
Shortly after I first learned about The Secret I was at Jo's family reunion. I unexpectedly found myself having a conversation with a man who is writing a book in 45 days. Our discussion about the fear of writing and the stories we tell ourselves resonated with me. We wound up exchanging contact information to talk further about our mutual goals. This contact ultimately turned into a very promising relationship designed to support each other in our creative process.
I interpret this interaction as the universe setting up the opportunity for me to step up and reach my potential. This is my chance to set out on a path I only dreamed of traveling. For the first time in my life, I believe a book will emerge and become a reality.
